Miikka Rokkanen is a Principal Economist in the Customer Behavior Analytics organization at Amazon, where he leads science initiatives that enable data-driven decision-making at global scale across online experimentation, personalization, marketing measurement, and strategic investments. He is also a Senior Fellow in the Wharton AI & Analytics Initiative at The Wharton School, where he mentors student teams on experiential learning projects with partner companies. Prior to Amazon, Miikka was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Columbia University (2014-2017), where his research focused on econometrics and labor economics, with particular emphasis on developing methods for causal inference in non-experimental settings. He holds a PhD in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2014) and BSc and MSc degrees in Economics from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland (2008).
